Another Slow Day..spend most of my time reading books and doing Vocabulary.
Found this poem online.


English Translation:
In the North there is a lady, stunning and singular.
One look confounds a city; a touch dooms an empire.
Rather not wishing to know, the ruination that may follow,
rare beauty is here and now.

It's was used in the film, House of Flying Daggers and was composed by the poet Li Yannian.
Quite profound in a certain sense. One single obsession of an object of desire, can do real damage to your health. Of course it was quite common in the olden days, where a rare beauty can cause the emperor to lose grip of reality. Thus causing the downfall of his reign and there goes one dynasty. And all thanks to one chio bu. Damnity...

Of cause this not a one sided affair where women is only involved. It can be other things like, drugs, alcohol, money, monkeys ect. Or whatever object that causes your complusive side to break out, like bananas. haha!

In another perspective, the lady is quite tragic in a sense she is blessed with such great beauty. But her destiny is not in her hands, rather she has to sacrifice for the sake of her country and fuifill her mission. Sort of like Diao Chan in Romance of the Three Kindoms. Chosen to cause turmoil between Lu Bu and Dong Zhou.
The Lady is a caged phoenix, unable to soar in the sky. That depicts the du li, the last two words in the 1st line. She remains singular and most likely to a point lonely.
Hmmm..quite like Zhang Ziyi character in the movie, House of Flying Daggers.
Haha..so sorry for the melancholy reviews folks! haha..time to watch a comedy or something =P
