Man...i din slept much on the plane. So i watched a few movies. The House of flying daggers .
Flying daggers is nice...visually.The flying daggers were really out of this world as in tok cock. Coz once thrown its like a heat seeking missile, and will home in on the target..waaahahaha

Got to know an Austrialian lady named Melissa. She's on her way home after holidaying for a MONTH in europe. Man, Singaporeans can't even do that. If we got 2 weeks, we'll be on our knees and thanking God. Haaaa..oh well
Anyway, i reached Brisbane airport. Disembarked and lugged my stuff to the customs to find a longggggggggg queue waiting for me. Damn!
And there were like only 4 or 5 customs ppl checking the passports. Come on man! Peak Period let's go! More staff needed! Call for Reinforcements! gah..
i think i stood for more then 25mins before it was my turn. Phew
Now where's my lugagge.
Panic for awhile coz i couldn't find my flight's carousel. hehe
And all the dogs, cute beagels but watch out! They sniff out illegal plant and food products! crickey! hehe Steve Irwin was in the ads for customs and quarantine.
Anyway i waited for my bags. The 1st one popped up quickly, but hey! where is my 2nd bag??
20mins later and i'm still seeing the same old bags! i was near frantic. Headed straight to the baggage counter to make a report. After 10mins of checking, they conclude that my bag was confirmed to have left s'pore. And someone could have took my bag.

They assure me that they will find it asap and send it to where i'm staying. Oh well. Damn sian, but i have to move on. Thank God i cleared the rest of customs smoothly and that gave me some comfort.
Met up with the QUT representative and he took me to the bus. Alas i was too late, for the driver had left! So back i went into the airport and waited. My flight was suppose to reach brisbane @ 6:45am aussie time. But due to flight delays and my lost bag, i came out of the arrival hall at 10 am. Great way to start my 1st day in Australia huh. But strangely i felt good, i know God is in control. =)
Anyway i got onto the 2nd bus. Reached the placed i had booked and checked in. Frankly speaking, i was not impressed. Coz it really looks a tad shabby and the girl at the counter didn't gave me a good impression. Haiz...but i can't complain coz its a backpackers motel. Its named Somewhere To Stay. Yea..so for starters its really the cheapest place to stay.

Motel Room
And cause it's cheap, you have to take all of the bed sheets, blankets and pillow case yourself and make your own bed. No problem! army trained! haha
hmmmm...it seams that someone else staying in my room too. Don't know who she/he is. Will see later.
After settling in, i wanted to take the free shuttle bus provided by the motel to the city. But i rained cats n dogs! Damn...spirits down. i wanted to go at noon to the city. Took a nap till 1pm and when i woke up it was still raining. Luckily it slacked off and stop at around 1:15pm.
I quickly took the bus and asked the driver for directions to QUT Kelvin Grove campus.
He stopped somewhere near a place called Roma transit centre and directed me to walk straight. With map in hand i walked to the general direction he pointed. The sky was still drizzled slighty.
Now at this point i can say i was at the lowest point since i set foot in Australia.
I felt really lost, alone and misorientated in this foreign land. What the heck am i doing in this place? Why is my backside so itchy and wanted to come to Australia, give myself alot of unnecessary trouble and leave my loved ones behind?
It really took alot of courage and self reasoning to banished all these negative thoughts away. And i don't know where that sudden surge of strength came from. i believe God is with me that day.
The city is really busy, just look at all the people. The place i'm at now is Queen Street Mall

Its filled with shops of all kinds on both ways of the road. Nice eh?
it took around 15mins of walking and i reached QUT but to my suprised its not Kelvin Grove campus!!

It's Gardens Point!
Argh, the driver cheated me!!
darn.
Took me awhile to find the student centre.
When i requested for assistance in looking for accomodation, the guy at the counter just gave me a website. I was like...okayyyyyyyy this is alot of help huh.
i looked at him and asked if there was someone i can speak to. He said:" No mate! the website is all that you need."
I asked him again if i can enrole today. Guess what he told me that the student card machine broke down and i had to come back tommorrow. okayyyyyy, just my luck.
damn..that moment was the 2nd lost feeling i had in a day.
i sat down and wondered what the heck should i do now.
Something nudged me to press on and search the campus. So i just thought what the heck
i can explore the place at the same time. Better then sitting down.

The campus is very different frm schools in s'pore. very interesting buildings and structures!

Thank God i walked around and found International Students Service @ K blk. And a very nice indian lady gave me a student orientation booklet and told me about the discover brisbane session. Which will have some people from the accomodation centre to help us with acquiring housing. And she provide so much other important information about the different dates on other briefings/sessions. Phew! after hearing all these i felt better and more confident on what i am doing. She asked me where am i staying now, and when i told her i'm putting up at somewhere to stay. This other guy in the office said that he is at the same place to! What a coincidence! We chatted alot when we left ISS. He's name is Thomas and from Sweden. He is here in Australia for an exchange program for one semester.

Finally! i made my first friend here in Australia
We walked around in the city. Had Lunch @ Hungry Jacks (which is burger king in fact).
Opened our bank accounts @ commonwealth bank. Bought our pre-paid sim cards @ Optus.
We found a place where we can use the internet for $3 per hr. Not bad huh? i felt we had accomplished quite alot today. When its time to go back to the motel, i suggested that we take the shuttle bus that pick up ppl at every hour. Guessed what, we waited for over an hour and the bus didn't showed up! And we had to walked all the way back to QUT, over Goodwill Bridge
all the way to West End *the surburb where our motel is at*. We got lost and walked for over 40mins before we reached our motel. Phew! Anyway a good day! Done much and made a new friend. Miss all of you guys back home! =) Miss u too baby *mucks*
